Independence Day Weekend

We had a HUGE weekend in the Teton Valley for the holiday. It was sensational! The valley is so gorgeous, and the weather was perfect. Perhaps a tiny bit chilly in the evenings, but much better than scorching hot. It was an amazing Independence Day bash.

Saturday morning was the parade and arts festival:

Then we went to the Teton Springs golf course to score some awesome seats.

Jason and Brandon were able to go golfing on the new course on Thursday for the grand opening. It's a closed course for country club members and VIP's only. A once in a lifetime experience. Very cool.

Teton Springs and the Huntsmans sponsored this huge celebration, patriotic music by the BYUI orchestra, guest speaker Glenn Beck, and a huge display of fireworks on the driving range of the golf course. And it was free! Check out the venue:

My mom is a huge Glenn Beck fan, and when I told her he was coming, she decided to come too! So the kids got to hang out with Grandma Gina and Papa as well as their cousins. Could it get any better than this?

We all just hung out for several hours. We played games, visited, took pictures, etc. It was hard work saving such great seats...

We had a big BBQ picnic just before show time, courtesy of Amanda. W-O-W. Amazing food.

My Mom got to talk with Glenn for a few minutes:

He really is an interesting speaker. He talked about American History and Columbus, and the Puritans, and how prayer and humility were instrumental in the founding of our great country.

And then the sun went down and it was time for fireworks:

My camera really doesn't do the fireworks justice. It was an impressive display.
I like watching the kids' faces more than watching the fireworks anyway.

Hope you had a fantastic 4th as well!

So cool! I love your kids' faces as well. Ellorie's cracks me up. And Glenn Beck! I forgot to ask you about him! Looks like it was super fun. And I love the hot air balloons too. Love the shot that it looks like you are holding it. Ellorie is a budding photographer!

A much better 4th then ours...which included being DRENCHED in thunder storms and being smoked out from the fireworks. It was like a battlefield. Yeah. LOL.

That looks like it was awesome! I wish I could have seen Glen Beck. What a fun way to celebrate the 4th!
