Pumpkin Harvest

Today we harvested our pumpkin patch. After that freak freeze, I thought they were goners. They were still green on the frozen vines. But, as it turns out, that's the way it's supposed to be. The pumpkins all turned a beautiful orange on their own.

We harvested 33 of them today! The kids counted them three times. (There are still a few more green ones hangin' out in the garden.)

Mason and Averie were great helpers while Ellorie was at piano lessons. Rylan had a long nap. It was very needed.

Ellorie decided to give them all a wash when she got home. She and Averie soaped them all down and rinsed them off. So now we have 33 shiny clean pumpkins adorning our front porch.

Pumpkin pie anyone?

If yours are orange, maybe there is still hope for mine. We only have about 6, but most of them are still pretty green.
